CAN I BOOK IN A TOUR?

HOW MANY GUESTS CAN WE HAVE?

We cater to events up to approx 150 people for a cocktail style event or up to 120 people max for a sit-down event (dependent on government guidelines and restrictions at the time of your event). Butterfly Red Hill offers several options for your dream wedding and reception, with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the property.

DO YOU ALLOW CHILDREN?

YES! We love to see the joy and wonder children experience as they explore the gorgeous property at Butterfly Red Hill. Please not that children must be supervised at all times whilst at Butterfly Red Hill, as we are an agricultural property with a large Pond and farm machinery etc. We recommend and can assist with engaging professional child minding or entertainment for young guests at Butterfly Red Hill Weddings, and can also include some of the wonderful outdoor games equipment for use during your event.

DO YOU ALLOW PETS?

We’ve loved seeing some of our couple’s share their wedding day with their special fur babies at Butterfly Red Hill! Whether they have a starring role as the ring bearer or simply want to sit front and center to watch the ceremony action and pose for photos, we’d love for your whole family to be there with you for the ceremony and photo elements of your day. We do ask that you assign a special minder for your fur baby to ensure they are well looked after for the day. We can assist with engaging a pet minding professional for on the day if you require someone to help with this.

Please note pets are not permitted within the inside spaces or to stay onsite overnight in the Farm House accommodation.

IS THERE ON-SITE PARKING?

Yes, we have limited on-site parking for up to 30 cars. We strongly recommend that couples use shuttle buses to pick up their guests from Butterfly Red Hill at the end of their event as taxi and ubers are limited in the area. We are more than happy to help with recommendations for local shuttle services.

HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU DO PER DAY?

Just yours! We want to help make sure everything is just perfect for your special day. Most of the packages that we offer our couples are inclusive of 1, 2 or 3 nights on-site accommodation. Giving you exclusive use of the Farm House, Gardens and Gallery for the duration of your stay.

IS THE PROPERTY WHEEL CHAIR FRIENDLY?

The Gallery and Gardens at Butterfly Red Hill offer wheel chair accessible paths and entry ways. There is an ambulant toilet outside the gallery too. In the Farm House there are several one-step inclines throughout.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS INCLEMENT WEATHER?

In the event severe or wet weather is forecast, you are able to hold both the ceremony and reception in the indoor Gallery spaces, we’ll work closely with you prior to your big day to ensure we’ve covered plan A and plan B (just in case).

IS THERE ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE?

Yes! Most of our wedding packages are inclusive of 1-2 or 3 nights accommodation in the on-site Butterfly Red Hill Farm House and allows the marrying couple and the option of up to 8 additional wedding party, friends or family to stay (up to 10 guests total). We are also happy to recommend some of the wonderful local accommodation options in the region for your guests to stay, should they wish to make a weekend out of it. Some of our packages include use of the onsite caravans for an additional accommodation option for your guests.

We are also pleased to offer the option of our nearby Butterfly Dromana accommodation- just a short drive from Butterfly Red Hill as well as recommending many nearby hotel and short stay accommodation options too.

ARE CATERING/ BAR STAFF INCLUDED?

Butterfly Red Hill is an exclusive use blank canvas venue that offers our couples the freedom to choose their own catering, RSA bar staff and BYO alcohol to create the wedding of their dreams. We have a wonderful network of wedding suppliers that we work with and are very happy to help you put together your dream team of wedding professionals for your event. We also have the Butterfly Cocktail Caravan permanently onsite which is equipped with bar fridges, 2 x keg taps and ice bank, ready for your professional bar staff to utilise.

Please note: all suppliers working as a part of your event must be professionals and hold current public liability and business insurances. BYO alcohol means the couple may provide the alcohol in advance of your event, guests are not permitted to BYO and must be served by professional RSA bar staff during your event.

CAN YOU HELP US PLAN OUR WEDDING?

We are super happy to work closely with you throughout the planning process and will give you as much or as little support as you need. Depending on the package you choose, you will need to engage a professional on-the-day wedding coordinator (or we can manage this for you) and we are happy to recommend some wonderful coordinators, stylists, photographers, florists, celebrants and musicians to help bring together your own unique wedding celebration.

what time is your event curfew?

Our event curfew is strictly no later than 11pm. This means any guests not staying onsite at Butterfly Red Hill are required to depart at this time at the conclusion of your event.

what is the butterfly planning portal?

Our Butterfly Brides and Grooms are given access to a fully customised, private online wedding planning portal with an amazing online suite of planning tools. It’s cloud based, so accessible anywhere you and your mobile or laptop go! It’s an awesome resource which our couples absolutely love, and definitely takes the stress out of knowing the who, what, where, when and how of wedding planning from start to finish!

IS CONFETTI ALLOWED?

We are pleased to allow biodegradable confetti, rose petals and bubbles in our outdoor ceremony spaces and can recommend various suppliers for these.

WHERE CAN WE HAVE THE CEREMONY?

With 4 acres of gorgeous gardens at Butterfly Red Hill, there are an abundance of beautiful locations throughout the property to hold your wedding ceremony as well as many stunning locations for your photos. Feel free to have a browse through our gorgeous wedding ALBUMS for some inspo from our existing Butterfly Brides and Grooms. In the event of rain or inclement weather, the Gallery is also a beautiful place to hold the ceremony.

IS THERE A DRESSING ROOM FOR THE WEDDING PARTY?

Yes, with exclusive use of the Butterfly Red Hill Farm House, there is plenty of space for the wedding party to prepare for the big celebration. The sun room has the perfect natural light AND awesome views of the ceremony lawns, so you and the crew can keep an eye on how the set up is going and who’s arriving on the day!

We also have the Whiskey Lounge, a gorgeous space for pre-ceremony preparations over on the Gallery side of the property which is completely separate to the Butterfly Red Hill Farm House.

what does an on-the-day-coordinator do, and do i need one?

So that we can offer our bespoke, creative events to run smoothly and without a hitch, it is a Butterfly Red Hill requirement to have a professional on-the-day-coordinator onsite for the duration of your event.

We are pleased to offer this service in-house at Butterfly Red Hill as a part of your package or in addition to it, or we can recommend one of our favourite external coordinators to help on the day.

They are responsible for managing the timeline, overseeing and liaising with suppliers and overcoming any last-minute challenges that arise during the festivities. It means you get to relax and enjoy your day while knowing all the little details are being looked after by a professional who cares that everything runs as smoothly as possible! Please note, this role cannot be fulfilled by a guest or family member at your wedding as they will need to remain professionally engaged for the duration of your event.

can our guests camp on-site?

No, due to council regulations, we do not allow camping in tents, cars or campervans onsite. Though there are plenty of amazing nearby accommodation options that we’d be delighted to recommend.

can we set up a big marquee?

Luckily with the gorgeous indoor Gallery spaces at Butterfly Red Hill we don’t need to have additional marquee spaces set up. With the exception of smaller (3x3 or 6x6m) marquees adjacent to the gallery, we do not allow large marquees to be set up on any other areas.

DO YOU HAVE HEATING AND COOLING?

Yes! Our Gallery and Farm House spaces are both equipped with split system heating and cooling, ensuring you and your guests will be comfortable all year round.

ARE SPARKLERS OR FIREWORKS ALLOWED?

No, we do not permit sparklers or fireworks on-site at Butterfly Red Hill.

what time is check in/out?

The check in/access time for our Standard/Premium and Luxe Packages is 2:00pm on the day of your arrival, and check out is 10:00am on the day of departure.

The check in/access time for our 12-hour packages offer access from 11:00am-11:00pm.

All package access times are inclusive of set up/pack down time.
